We spent 4 weeks here from end of September 2019. It was paradise- so we returned mid August & hoping to stay until October (covid willing!) This campsite is, by far, the very best we have stayed with our caravan. We have been lucky to have a large pitch alongside the beach. I am disabled so take my wheelchair to the two steps and manage the 4 metres to our loungers (which we leave on the beach throughout our stay) The excellent WIFI covers this area. I manage the further 4 metres to the sea. The shelving means that I can float away in warm water after only one metre. To complete this information for those using wheelchairs (I have ME/CFS & a spinal problem) Hellas has wonderful facilities for disabled visitors. This year all the amenities have been refurbished to a standard found in the best hotels. The shower suite for those with disability had room for the wheelchair, a ‘smart’ lock (no handles) AND plenty of hot water.
Hellas is paradise for campers. Warm, friendly owners. Fridge & freezer available. Shade even on parts of the beach. Large pitches beautifully arranged in the olive grove.
I would recommend this site to all whether disabled or not.

In an olive grove, terraced down to the sea, 11 miles southeast of Volos (immediately before the larger Camping Sikia). Family-owned and run, the site has good facilities including washing machines. Reliable free WiFi throughout. In late October we got a pitch right on the shore of the bay by a narrow shingle beach. A new toilet/shower building is almost ready but there are no locks on the shower cubicle doors. There is also no provision to hang towels or clothes inside the new small cubicles, which means that campers have to undress and dress in the public area and leave their belongings there. Privacy, personal safety and security are surely more important than modern smoked glass doors? It is a short walk along a footpath into Kato Gatzea village, with tavernas, a bakery, pharmacy and mini-market. The site’s exit drive runs steeply uphill onto the busy main road, with blind corners in each direction – a road that is totally unsuitable and unsafe for cycling. The campsite restaurant/bar was open, though no longer serving meals. ACSI Card rate applied. Advised to phone ahead in mid-winter, when there are very few campers due to the colder weather, though it was warm enough for sea-bathing in late October.

Excellent campsite, really friendly owners, extremely obliging, put us on a lovely pitch near the disabled facilities. Camp is right on the beach, everything very clean, bread and other provisions available. Restaurant on site and you can get anything off the menu as takeaway. Free WiFi also.
